About Us
The AACCLC was established in 1993 with the goal of uniting the Black business community of Lake Charles. In 2019, under the new leadership of Fitzgerald Darbone, an organizational shift was occurring, but as a result of four major natural disasters in 2020, there were some program set backs. Today, through the strength and resilience of its members, the AACCLC is ready to embark on its new path. This path includes visions and goals that aspire to bring success, health, and unity to the black community of Lake Charles.
MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT
Welcome to the African American Chamber of Commerce of Lake Charles (AACCLC) and Southwest Louisiana.
The AACCLC understands that to have a strong economic environment we must first have strong communities. The AACCLC is honored to offer a talented Board of Directors with lived-experience as community leaders, business owners, educators, and citizens who realize the shared responsibility of creating economic infrastructure.
As Southwest Louisiana continues to recover from four natural disasters in 2020, the AACCLC’s goal is to work in partnership with communities, improving the quality of life for all. To accomplish this goal, the AACCLC will sponsor educational events and workshops, and lead campaigns that support community health and wellness.
As your 2021-2022 AACCLC President, I am honored to serve alongside a dedicated Board of Directors who share the same vision and passion for Black economics.
If you have not yet joined the African American Chamber of Commerce of Lake Charles, consider joining today!
Sincerely,
Fitzgerald Darbone
